Can you name the top patent blogs?

We were pleased to see that those blogs we follow regularly and link often on Securing Innovation, the corporate blog of IP.com, are the top patent blogs determined by a survey of the intellectual property blogosphere.

Here's the baker's dozen that rose to the top of the list.

  2. IPWatchdog.com
  3. IP Kat
  4. Spicy IP
  5. Patent Baristas
  6. Intellectual Property Watch
  7. Patent Docs
  8. 271 Patent Blog
  9. BlawgIT
  10. Patent Prospector
  11. The Invent Blog
  12. IP Think Tank and The Prior Art

Securing Innovation came in a respectable 32nd of the top 50 patent blogs. As expected, we were outranked by many other patent blogs we like, a lot, Promote the Progress, IP Newsflash, I/P Updates, PHOSITA, Chicago IP Litigation and Intellectual Asset Management.

It's interesting to note just how popular the top patent blogs are in comparison with other websites and blogs. Fourteen of the blogs on the list of the Top 50 Patent Blogs compiled by Gene Quinn at IP Watchdog are in the top 5% of all websites according to Alexa. (IPWatchdog, Promote the Progress, Invent Blog, PatentlyO, Spicy IP, IP Think Tank, Patent Baristas, IP NewsFlash, The Business of Patents, Intellectual Property Watch, Intellectual Asset Management, IP Kat, Against Monopoly, Patent Prospector)

In the end, considering the toughness of the competition, we're just happy our blog wasn't voted off the island!
