IBM and National Geographic launched a landmark 5 year global scientific initiative to gather and analyze the world's largest collection of human genetic samples. The study's purpose is to better understand humanity's migration across the planet over thousands of years, and the impact of that migration upon the development of our collective civilization. Hundred of thousands of DNA samples from both indigenous and general public communities are being gathered, sequenced and then analyzed to surface the patterns of human migration.</p>
